Good gawd not this again already! I seriously hope Porsche would have solved the issues with the v8 Cayenne's by now.. Are any of you guys using oil?

I had the same on my 11 S, they did a remap and that seemed to quiet the knocking(in 2-3 gear under 30 mph). I'm also a blown coolant manifold victim, Im hoping that engine overheat did cause the knocking.

After having tested various brands of super high-octane fuel with negative results, I recently dished out $10 for a small bottle of 104+ Octane Boost into one full tank of gas.

I'm now proud to say that the pinging/pre-ignition/detonation at light acceleration has completely disappeared. It looks like PAG may have made a good point regarding our inferior fuel....
Will wait until a 1/2-tank and re-fill to full so that it can be determined how much of this stuff is actually required to silence the beast and maximize the $10 investment.

Ask your dealer, if you get an ecu tune and the knocking go's away, if they will pay for it. Your engine shouldn't knock or ping on anything 93 or above. Not even in 105* weather with the a/c on full and lugging the engine. Not a stock vehicle-
Better yet if your worried go to harbor freight and spend 100$ on a borescope and compression tester and check yourself.

i would seafoam it out, specifically the fuel lines and injectors.
something is not right my guess there is crap in the injectors because the fuel does not seem to atomize correctly..
