Wink Need insight !

Found a 2016 Cayenne GTS - Honestly love the spec, condition looks very mint. Mileage is the only thing that scares me as I don't know too much about these things as far as longevity & cost of ownership. It's a 3.6L v6 with 119,840 miles. Carfax is also clean, 3 previous owners, 12 service records. However, I don't see any major services done aside from oil changes & regular maintenance. Which I guess could be a good thing but it does worry me that I would have some ownership worries. I did reach out to the dealership and requested a walk around video & also hoping they have access to the original window sticker to give me a better idea of the vehicles options.

Owned mt 16 CS with same engine for 2 yrs now, put on 30k miles, now approaching 100k miles on the clock. Repairs I had to do are the y coolant line under the intake manifold and replaced alternator after it failed. Did both myself as I've been working on my own cars for a while but if you don't then such jobs would cost you a couple thousand or so at an independent shop, obv x2/3 at the dealership. At ~120k, expect the below jobs to come up soon, if not already done:
- y coolant line
- water pump
- air suspension (replace as they fail/leak)
- possibly alternator if still on original

If planning to keep the car for a while, you'd probably want to refresh all fluids.

Thank you! I kept seeing a lot of people talk about the transfer cases as well. I’m still waiting on the dealership to get in contact, which to me is already a slight red flag. I can share the listing with you if you’d like so you can take a look and let me know what you think. This would be my daily ideally, as I currently daily a 18 F80 M3, need something a tad bit comfier and just an SUV.

Yes definitely check transfer case history. Mine is on its 3rd now and I changed the fluid 3 times in the last 2 years, every ~10k miles. If there are no symptoms of it failing then you'd probably be fine changing fluid regularly.

Feel free to share the listing if you want. Most important is service history.

Also, forgot to mention, engine mounts will need to be done if not already replaced. I've been putting mine off for a while because dreading the job as its hard and time consuming.

Specs and exterior/interior colour combo are good. Not sure if you noticed but there is no service history for the last owner, from 84k. I'm assuming that the last owner serviced and worked on the car themselves so I think its best if you could get in touch with them to know what's been done. They might've already addressed a few/if not all of the common concerns. Otherwise, maybe get a PPI done to know what issues could come up soon. You could even maybe use that to negotiate the price a bit.

Good service history up to 08/15/2023, at 83,929 mi. then nothing.

Maybe the service was DIY or serviced by a shop that does not report to Carfax.

Hard to say why, see if they will agree to a Pre-Purchase Inspection .

Yea I'm gonna get a PPI with Porsche if the selling dealership is willing to do so at my cost. Im not sure how I can possibly get in touch with the previous owner.
