Just got a quote for replacing the valve cover gaskets on my wife's 2024 Cayenne GTS n/a V8. I crapped my pants. What should be the cost? AI say 900-1300 at most
Is it not under warranty being a 2024? Or I’m guessing you meant a 2014? It’s a very big job. The diys out there and there re several on here , renntech etc. most folks say 4-5 hrs per side and lots of parts are while you are in there as you would break a lot of the plastic lines that are by now very brittle. It’s likely a 8-12 hr job at a reputable shop so let’s say at 250$ an hour at a decent Indy I’d say $2500ish. Hope that helps.
Even pelican has a diy……. Go through it in detail then see what you think it would take time wise. I’m thinking closer to the 12 hr range being careful and that could easily double if you crack lines and such….

I recently picked up a 2014 CS. I brought it to my local Indy who I trust after purchasing so he could check everything out. He found both sides were weeping. He said it would cost about $1500. Fortunately, the dealer repaired it under its used car warranty, but I did receive their work shop receipt and they priced at about $863. Definitely a little labor intensive.
I just did this service last month at an indy shop on my 2015 CD. Total cost was $2,879.49 for both sides. Keep in mind there are a lot of single use parts that have to be replaced during this service, as well as lots of smaller gaskets and o-rings. Labor is a full day minimum.

My local dealer is doing now for around 2k, but my indy shop quote was 1200.00. They sent the quote way after I gave the dealer the go ahead. Too late but oh well its only money
Getting it done now at an indy for $1300 and that includes plugs. I am in SC so maybe a lower cost area.
Felt compelled to correct this data point. Picked the car up Friday...$1300 was the labor. Between the gaskets, plugs, some hoses that also needed to be replaced when they got in there, new bolts, etc it ended up being around $2100.
With that and all the other work i got done the sucker is driving like new though!
