Default Transfer case fluid fill amount

Today, I tried to change transfer case fluid on my 2014 C GTS and about .875 liters came out. The transfer case fluid kit I bought from fcpeuro came with Porsche original tc fluid which is .85 liters. When I filled the transfer case nothing came out of the fill hole.

All DIY videos I watched show people filling tc until fluid starts coming out of the fill hole. I’m kind of confused now and under impression that I didn’t put enough fluid. My research shows my vehicle takes .78 liters of tc fluid. What’s going on? Should I buy another container and fill until fluid starts coming out of the fill hole, or I’m good?

Per Porsche, "0.92 quarts (0.875 liter)"

If nothing came out during the fill, then there is a bit of a forward lean on the car. The transfer case has the prescribed amount in it. All is well.

JUST DON'T crack the case over tightening the fill/drain plugs.

if my calculation is correct, it’s now missing .025 liters because there was .85 in the container. It’s not much and I’m probably going to flush it again in 200 miles or so, but given how finicky these TCs are I don’t want to ruin it.

It's 100% fine. You likely didn't drain every drop out either. Nothing to flush, just change fluid every other engine oil change.

Agree with above.

Love your attention to detail.
You are fine.
Gentle with the plug.

.025 liters is less than 2 tablespoons.

Again, all is well.

Regarding the drain and fill plugs: https://rennlist.com/forums/diy-caye...-change-2.html go to post 24 for my method of avoiding cracking the case.

Great write up on that. I just got my Cayenne with 83k miles. Carfax shows the TC was "serviced" 6000 miles/1 year ago. But I think I am going to change out the fluids here soon and start doing it every 5000 miles with my oil change as well.
