Default Costco tire experience

Will switch to my summer wheel/tire setup soon and, looking at the treadwear and with at least two long road trips planned, thinking it'll be pushing it to get another summer season out of them.

Currently have Michelin PS4S (on 21" ten split-spoke OEM wheels) and, while I love the tires and they've been great, they're overkill for my buggy (2014 CTTS).

Saw that Costco has Michelin PS4 All-Season, which seems like a good choice.

Anyone use Costco for tires for their Cayenne and care to share their experience?

I've searched RL and found a few posts that were positive; apologies in advance if there's a thread in the 958 forum as my sleuthing skills are rudimentary at best.

Never knew that Costco had a 5 year RHW. That beats Tire Racks warranty. In addition, free installation. That's a no brainer. My next ties gonna have to be from Costco.

If you get those Michelin's, make sure you get the ones with the velour ring all the way around the tire. our 21" size has the velour ring.

Select sizes of the Pilot Sport All Season 4 are available with Michelin's Full Ring Velour Premium Touch sidewall treatment.

i only go to costco and discount tire for both my 911 and cayenne, and both places are excellent. highly recommend both places. BTW if you have the 21" wheels, try running 275/40/21 tires in all 4 corners. Thats what im running and its like driving on a cloud with the extra tread and the air suspension, plus you wont have a heart attack everytime you hit a pothole. ill never go back to 295/35/21.

Like any chain or franchise business, service will vary from location to location. That said, I have had nothing but positive experiences with Costco for my Cayenne and Cayman. Friends use Costco for their M3s and 911s. All are happy return customers.

i've used costco in past for 911, bmw's etc- i'd order tires & in a wk or so they were here. They've always been very conservative about what they would order for my cars, they'll only install their own TPMS (won't install those i buy online). Currently costco's here won't install anything other than N rated tires on my 958.2 Cayenne's (base & turbo). Tried to order various tires- they insist they would only N rated tires -even wanted to look at my manual to see what it says re tires. Then when i asked which N rated they could get there were none available. Tried talking to tires mgr about they're refusal but got no where. Interesting-
I Gave up on costco. Ordered Michelin PS4 SUV summer tires for my cayenne turbo from Sams club with no problem & had them installed. Got Michelin PS4 all season for the base from Sams also with no issue.

Sorry but 295 40 21 is better, but 275 45 21 will give ultimate comfort. No rub

do you have a picture of your cayenne with those tires? which tire did you get? would you mind sharing your experience?
I’m looking to get that size also or maybe 275/50/20 if I can find a set of 20s.

295/40/21 may not seem like it, but it is way too far off from the factory 295/35/21. The speedometer would be off by a significant amount and surely you would rub at full lock. I remember comparing all these sizes when I made the decision to go 275/40/21 and that’s why I chose that size.

They only slightly rub at full lock if in the lowest suspension setting. For me the added comfort is worth the possibility to rub, coming from a PS4S summers in a 35 series. Ordered from Costco. Additionally, they will balance (winter) tires&wheels not purchased from Costco for like 20 bucks

Had Costco install some new PS 4S on my 2014 S yesterday. It wasn't done until 8:30 PM. Picked up, came home, parked it. This morning I find a drip from my drivers side CV boot. I just did my lower control arms, and nothing was wrong with either side CV boots. So just a coincidence that the boot gives out right after it was at Costco? I forgot to remind them of putting the car into jacking mode, but I think they did because when I picked it up, it was at regular height and I always leave it in the lowest height. Could not putting it into jacking mode have any impact on the CV boots/joints? Now I have to decide on a new axle, or just the boot.
