Question Cayenne 958 2012 Rear HVAC Blower

Hello folks,

I was searching the forums but haven't found anything on this.

I am looking to replace the rear Blower motor on my Cayenne and the local dealer currently isn't ordering any parts due to the situation.
I saw a part online that mentions the part number 7p0820022 and says it will work with my model year.

The local dealer has provided me the part number 95857202204. They said the previous number was 95857202203.

Can anyone confirm if this (7p0820022) will work?

Also, does anyone know the DIY to replace the blower motor?

The fan motor for the rear AC is located in the left rear quarter panel (next to the cargo area). You have to remove that cover and move the whole AC unit. The fan motor is attached on the outboard side of the rear AC unit (which has hoses flexible enough to let you move it to do so).

Relevant service guide steps are
  • 700319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SIDE TRIM PANEL FOR REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT
  • 700619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT COVER)
  • 886819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FAN MOTOR

a question, how to remove the panel in the cargo area?

I seem to recall that's been posted before, search should turn up how to remove the cargo panel. That's why including the service procedure step numbers is helpful. Search on those when you come across them.

WM 700319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SIDE TRIM PANEL FOR REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT
1. Remove C-pillar trim. → 706819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING C-PILLAR TRIM
2. Remove the rear side trim panel. → 707519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR SIDE TRIM PANEL
3. Remove D-pillar trim. → 706919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING D-PILLAR TRIM
4. Remove cover for rear lock support. → 703919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COVER FOR REAR LOCK SUPPORT

Basically remove a whole bunch of stuff that overlaps the panel, and then you can remove the panel. The process is the same for the right and left panels.

It's truly a PITA to remove either of those side panels.. a slight case of German over-engineering.

Yeah, it does seem excessive. I've not had either panel off but it does seem like there's not a way to get that fan motor off/on without gaining full access to the rear AC assembly, and that's only going to happen by taking all the other pieces off first.

To those that have a rear AC blower fan issue I just replaced mine earlier today and all works as new. Not a job that is fun, but for the those with rear AC it's a must or those in the back seat won't be so happy. LOL

As mentioned above, removing the rear trim up to the drivers side rear door, removing 3 bolts holding the AC unit in the pocket, and then removing 4 small screws holding the blower fan in place.

I bought the part through FVD Brombacher in Germany and they shipped it to Seattle, $248.85 all in. Another Cayenne project complete!

Does anyone have the replacement part number?
My rear controls are all live and the seat heaters work but no air from any of the rear vents, so I'm 'assuming' that it's in the blower. I see fuse #32 is supposed to be for that but that fuse holder is empty (even though the rear vents used to work) and putting a fuse in there didn't help.
I'd appreciate any help!
