Agree. You can also select the elevation to show in the dash PCM. I drive in the mountains quite a lot and find it useful.

I think they look pretty cool and I like the idea of direction and elevation without using the PCM screen. I'll be watching Ebay to see if one pops up.. Hopefully they are cheap enough.

I think this conversation of compass over clock on the dash is quite funny..... You can have all the functions one or the other displayed on the PCM or pick one or the other on the dash. Its really a matter of preference as to which you want on the dash. When I got mine, I figured it looks nice and wanted the clock because most of my unknown drives are based on navigation pointing me blindly like a mule, so I'd never look use a compass. Ultimately, I rarely look at that clock, but it looks good.

Sorry for reviving an old thread. The main reason I spec’d the compass option is because I did white gauges and the clock only came in black which I thought would look weird. The face of the compass was available in white so this kept my OCD happy.
