Default Advice Needed: 2013 GTS vs. 2014 Turbo S

Hello, new to Rennlist and hoping for some advice here. Trying to choose between a 2013 GTS (72K miles, 2-owner Nebraska, reputable dealer bought at auction) and 2014 Turbo S (84K, 3 owner, NY and WA, private party listing). Clean Carfaxes for both listing mostly dealer service. Approximately $10K asking price difference between the two. Build specs are below. I'll be using as my DD and for work. I have weekly 8-hour round trips for work, primarily on major highways, sometimes more than once per week. I plan to keep it for awhile, at least 5 years. Wondering if it's worth paying up for the Turbo S. I like the idea of the additional HP, but wonder if I will use it. The Turbo S is more nicely optioned inside, but I do enjoy a good exhaust note. Any thoughts from the experts on which way to go?

Turbo S. Gets better mileage on the highway also.

Folks want that GTS look and the cayenne Turbo S that you post up has the body kit that is on the GTS so that's a great thing.

In addition to that, here are the options that the S has that the GTS doesn't:

4 Zone Climate control
Porsche Active Safety (PAS)
Burmseter, a must have for long trips. The system sounds amazing.
Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control PDCC
Porsche Torque Ventoring. PTV

It's a no brainer.

Not sure why the Turbo S is not showing up in my post - maybe because it's a Facebook Marketplace listing?

You may be able to find a CPO 958.1 at a dealer for that money. A safer purchase..

Good idea - I didn't see one when I looked previously, but I will look again.

I'd take the Turbo S as you can always modify the exhaust later if you want more exhaust note but given your long drives, I think you'll enjoy the Burmester more than the Bose.

While the GTS sounds great, it’s not remotely fast. Driving 8hr trips with high hp and torque for passing maneuvers to get ahead of traffic in the turbo s will always put a smile on your face. I think the performance of the GTS would make you miss your S4.

Turbo S: Adaptive Cruise and Burmeister are worth the price of admission alone, especially for a road warrior.

If I were you I'd buy a CPO car and add the 3rd year to the warranty. In your case, the CPO warranty is unlimited mileage making it substantially less than 3rd party. The additional cost will be worth the premium (maybe 3-5x) buying CPO.

Some dealers will broker a private party car and CPO it for a fee. You'd have to pay to bring it up to CPO condition, but nothing more than you'd have to do anyways.

Between the two I’d pick the Turbo S myself, but with the amount of driving you’ll be doing week after week, I’m not sure I’d get either of these. If it was to be a pleasure vehicle though as opposed to a heavy duty commuter, again I’d pick the Turbo S. Much more unique.

Best of luck with your quest!

Thanks GTCharlie - I've got a couple inquiries in on the CPOs in my price range. Unsurprisingly, they go very fast.
