What prompted you to replace the 4 oxygen sensors? I am not throwing any codes, but when I took them out and cleaned the ports and sensors with compressed air, it had a lot of carbon particles but the sensors themselves look fine.

Replacement of Camshaft bolts under recall

Replacement of battery (Original lasted 90K miles!)
Replacement of "Tank Hose" 948.110.020.13 assembly
Repair of heat leak from under dash/console on drivers side
Repair of coolant pipe glue failure at 83K miles
Replacement of plugs and coils
Bought mine as a CPO in December 2019 with 88k miles. Just hit 138k this weekend.
Transfer case was replaced at 91k
Regular maintenance for the 50k we've put on it. Replacing brakes and tires in the next few weeks.
Most things were done prior to purchase since it was CPO. It has been a great SUV.

Mine was throwing codes on three of the four sensors and the car was running very rough. I'm not a fan of doing the same job twice, especially when its such a PITA, so I replaced them all.

2012 Cayenne Turbo
Bought with 52k in 2015
246,000+ miles now and will hit 250k in the next few weeks
Issues:
- Little plastic coolant pipe cracked under the manifold (not the glue issue). Easy fix. Took a few hours and I'm pretty sure the beer cost me more than the part.
- Rear wiper motor burned out.
- Chased failing door handles and the "Key not recognized" error for a while and then decided the green wire cut was the easiest (thanks to this forum for that solution).
- Hard disk in the PCM died. This forum was invaluable getting that up and running. Only cost was about $70 for the new drive and a bunch of head scratching and learning how to clone the old drive properly (which fortunately was readable).
- Rear blower motor burnt out and had to be replaced.
Maintenance
Basic stuff - oil changes every 10-15k (doesn't eat any oil), brakes when needed, rotors if out of spec, tires, etc. Changed the front transfer case lube once - should probably do it again. Nothing too exciting. Might do plugs some time, but it runs like a top, so I'm not sure why I'd poke the bear.
This car has been a beast. I use it as my daily driver and as a work vehicle. I frequently pull a 6,000lb dual axel trailer all over the upper Midwest, put all kinds of steel on the roof rack with a hitch/rack extender. It's amazing pulling into a construction site - plenty of head scratching and "What the heck, I've never seen a Porsche pull a trailer!" comments. I pull my boats with it, 3 snowmobiles in the winter and have even in a pinch pulled my T300 Bobcat for a short low-speed 15 mile trip - just a little over the cars towing capacity! I consistently get 22 on the highway at 70, 16 with the trailer.
Two hassles
- Windshield/sunroof drains. If I forget to clean these, I'll end up with a passenger with wet feet!
- In Minnesota, we'll get some really cold snaps and if the car sits outside for a couple days without running, I can run into a suspension fault. It's usually the compressor fuse and once I warm up the car in the garage overnight and pop a new fuse in, I'm good to go. That only happens a couple days a year, so it's not a big issue. I suspect there's some moisture in the system the freezes up and causes the compressor fuse to blow.
I've noticed a clunk coming from the front right side, so I suspect I've got a suspension mount or control arm bushing wearing out, so that will mean a few bucks into it. It's got a little oil seepage around the pan, but not enough to drip or spend money to fix. At the end of the day, it's been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I've got 300k clearly in my sights and hopefully more than that!
2012 CTT 131k miles.
Love the car, its like a super comfy flying couch. Looking to get into a 9Y0 e-hybrid, so probably selling it soon or trading in
did everything the last 3 years:
upgraded the coolant pipes and all the related parts to new design, t stat, water pump etc
under warranty did the leaking cams with the full engine drop at the dealer
high pressure fuel pump
2 new air struts in the front + suspension
gonna be sad to let this one go, hope the new models are as well build
Not mine but Im taking care of my uncles 13 Cayenne S for a bit and shes got 411,000km and change. Drives perfect. Hes got me diagnosing an intermittent low coolant level warning while away on business.
I have a 2016 cayenne turbo S with 116K miles. Other than the transfer case, just routine maintenance. I purchased it in 2020 with 26K miles. I also have a 2013 911 4s cab with 71k miles. Ran into a guy at Newport cars and coffee with a 2003 911 turbo purchased new. Its been his daily driver since then. It has 675K miles and is also a track car. After hearing this, I plan on keeping my Porsches forever! If Toyotas can pass 1M miles, then far superior build Porsches should as well. Awesome machines.
2012 CTT 160K Miles - I just got 54k miles out of Conti DWS06 21" tires......if you are replacing tires every 10k you have a problem and/or seriously soft summer only tires
I picked up a 2103 Diesel July of 2021 with 90k. Have 133k on it now. When it is running it is fantastic. Otherwise:
alternator replaced
Trunk latch and module, HVAC Blower, driverside window switches, Right rear door latch, Three wheel bearings, Oil cooler seals and gaskets, Coolant housing.
still needing to be replaced/fixed Left rear door latch Timing cover oil leak, and the amp cuts out if you turn it off and back on again within a few minutes.
And whatever breaks next.
Who has the highest mileage 958 Cayenne on all of Rennlist! If you have a 958 Cayenne, post your miles, your sub-model (base, S, turbo), and any major issues you have dealt with or are dealing with.
I have been looking for a 958.1 base for several months but have not yet pulled the trigger. I drive roughly 110 miles/day and am planning on driving my next car deep into the 200k-300k range. Obviously it takes thorough and consistent maintenance to reach such high miles. This got me thinking... what is the highest mileage anyone has accrued on their Cayenne and what did it take to get it there?
I figure it would be interesting to see the distances these cars have reached and may be insightful for others down the road.
Post them up!
Sorry for Hungary.
just bought a 2014 v6 with 266km's on it... tow pack, prem pack, Burmester...got a great deal as a trade-in at Porsche dealer...front differential pinion bearing is GONE, fluid came out like liquid anti-seize
I bought my 2012 CTT in Jan. 2022 with 68k miles and paid $39k. Felt high at the time but inline with other CTT sales 1 year ago. 1 year later, I'm at 97k miles and have been debating keeping this beast or making a "sensible" trade. My CTT is highly optioned and had a $140k original sticker, including the the PCCB package. The prior caretaker meticulously maintained this truck since new at 1 dealer.
It's still on the OG TC but did have the rear differential, front air bags and the driver side turbo wastegate replaced under prior ownership. Since I took her into the stable, I replaced the OG Battery, Spark plugs and Coils, 3 oil services and thats about it. The CTT has been very reliable. I have only had routine maintenance. I almost forgot, 1 set of DWS 06+ and an additional rear set that wore out quickly. Reading this thread has made me feel very good about keeping this beast and not worry so much about the miles I've piled on in my daily commute to NYC and multiple college runs to Philly and Boston.
Next service will include another oil service, brake fluid flush, TC Flush and debating the Transmission flush and or PDCC flush. Anyone think it's a bad idea to tune this monster at my current mileage? I've debated this for the past few months but don't want to create issues while reliability has been great.
