Default What rear diff is in 2011 Cayenne Base?

Want to change the fluid, but need to know what kind of diff it is? Is it a regular open diff, or a limited slip or electronically locking one?

May be on the same topic - transfer case fluid - recommendations? Unlike some other makes Porsche owners manual doesn't have the volume and type of the fluids/gases for the vehicles.

Base car has an open diff in the rear (and front), any old 75w-90 works. I used Shell Spirax S5 which is the OEM non-LSD transmission fluid on 997s.

For the TC, Pelican Parts has the Shell OEM fluid at a substantial discount from the dealer price.

I ended up getting 75w90 Liqui Moly for the diffs and s-Tec (shell) for the transfer case. Hopefully 1L for each of them should be enough.

The fluids you got will do fine and it is less than a litre for each.

Just did my front & rear diffs + transfer case; Ravenol is a pretty popular product line amongst the community. Your base model is more than likely an open diff.

Front & Rear Diffs:
Ravenol Gear Oil VSG 75W-90

Transfer Case:
Ravenol Transfer Case Fluid DTF-1
