^Thanks. I keep the ozone to the minimal setting if I use it. The dryer on the lowest setting make a big difference. I don’t typically use it on the helmet. Gloves and shoes benefit most.

That was my initial concern too, but seeing as how it's made by Simpson, I'd guess the ozone is not being released in such high concentrations to cause premature aging. Or perhaps the damage from ozone was tested to be less than the damage from sweat? Or, because they recommend a new lid every 5 years, they figure it won't cause *enough* damage over that amount of time? We may never know...

For smell, just stuff a dryer sheet in the helmet and bag.

do same for winter boots, slalom boots etc etc
