2011 CS - steering wheel upgrade to multifunction?
Seriously Porsche, WTF! My newly acquired 2011 CS does not even have volume control on the steering wheel. I didn't even think about looking at that since every car I've owned from the past 20 years has radio controls on the wheel. So I see some very inexpensive used multifunction wheels out there. What do I need other than the steering wheel itself? Is there anyone with experience?
This is one from a wrecked vehicle breaker on Ebay. They probably have other components if necessary:

Maybe the solution is as simple as bolt on and code in. I found this:
(1) Upgrade sport design steering wheel to multifunction coding guide | German Performance Service (gpsadapter.us)
Once I get the X431 I will look for this module/menu.

Hmmm, I've never seen a Cayenne without either the MF or sport steering wheel. Can you post up a picture of your current wheel?
Wondering if someone switched out your wheel.

I'm probably going to buy that one linked on Ebay for cheap. I think the same air bag fits and consensus is plug and play or plug and code. I'm waiting for my x431 to show up Monday and confirm the module settings are accessible.
Since my "special option" wheel is so special maybe it's worth more than I'll have to pay for the multifunction and I'll come away in the black on this deal. Or maybe just hold onto it.

Based on my research (but not personal experience), I believe you will need a clock spring from a car that had the MF wheel in order to make it work, even with the x431 to code it.
There are several threads on the board about the swap.

All the threads I've found are related to changing for a newer model Cayenne steering wheel, so understandable that there would be additional components involved. I didn't find any on this particular swap for the same year, different wheel.
