Default USB Drive Music Unreadable

Greetings. Have a 2017 Cayenne Diesel.

Just threw some music from CD onto a 8GB Flash Drive formatted FAT (Not Ex or 32). Dragged and dropped.

When I plug into Cayenne, says Media Unreadable. Works like a charm in my Range Rover Sport. Have read literally 1000 ideas online. Anyone know something definitive on how to transfer songs from a CD onto flash drive and play in Cayenne? Also, please speak to me like I'm a child. Not too savvy with all of this. Thanks!!!!

I have put the songs onto USB flash drives but put them in/on as MP3.

Mine works fine.. have 5,000 MP3's on a thumb drive, formatted FAT32 and it works just fine. I expect not having FAT32 might be your problem. To make the MP3's - I'd suggest "FreeRIP" - great PC/Windows tool to quickly rip CD's to MP3's (or a few other formats.)

I wrestled with the best way to take my music library with me in my 998. I experienced an annoying delay using the USB stick each time I started the car, so I decided to download everything to Jukebox. Even that is not without challenges. It took me a while to load the library over time, and Jukebox catalogs the library slightly different from iTunes, but I think I got most of what I wanted. It sure seems a lot harder than it should in this day and age.

Thanks so much. I'll look for the FreeRIP Mac equivalent!
