use e-brake when parking? (yes, no, whats an e-brake?)

Burning Brakes
Years ago, in a 2004 Tundra pickup truck, the e-brake seized up from lack of use. Once I got it fixed, I got in the good habit of using it all the time afterwards.
I have trained my wife to always use the e-brake too, and she does.
I use it every time I put the truck in Park as it is now a habit. Now that it is just a push/pull button/lever-whatever it is, it is just too easy to NOT use it.

My parking brake is always applied before the car is put into park, incline or not. Hate the weight of the car resting on the transission.
I'm sure may of you remember back in the day, you riding in the back seat of your moms Ford Country Squire and she grabs that stick on the tree and pulls it into drive. That clunk sound was dreadful.

My driveway is sloped so I have to use it. Better to use the parking brake to hold the car than the transmission.
My procedure:
1. Come to a stop, keep foot on brake
2. Shift to neutral.
3. Apply parking brake.
4. Release foot brake.
5. Shift to Park.
