Default TPMS sensor question

I buy OEM rims from CTT 2016 for my CTT 2014. After I fit it to my car there was a error to tpms system. Is the sensor of 2016 is compatible whit 2014, if not is there a chance to coding at service?

Same sensors. Did you tell the system in the car that you got new tires? You can do this using the multi-instrument display panel (the one in the dash) - and tell it you went to something other than what was on there (winter/summer, diameter 19/21, etc.) It will then put the system into LEARN mode - and you have to drive it a few KM to get the new sensors identified. You may want to do that twice - once to initially trigger it, then once again to set it to the correct tires you have on the car.

Yes I tried a few times to set winter or summer tires but I get the message ( no sistem learning) and nothing happens. Drive 10 km. I read that sensors are one type for year to 04.2014 and different from 05.2014 is that right? Mine is 05.2014 maybe i am whit old model sensors.....

So I've read that the frequency changed in 2014/15 time frame. I am going through the same thing with a set of earlier factory 18's from an 2009 Cayenne. I have a 2015 CD and I have purchased these TPMS sensors that are called "uni-sensor". Note the frequencies between the orange bars it is capable of broadcasting to the car. Probably confirms the frequency change posts I've read. I'll update once I have confirmed success.

I am absolutely sure that my sensor of the picture is for your car MY 2015-2017, because they were on the oem turbo rims from 2016 Cayenne.
But for 2011-2014 don’t now which sensor is.
I disassemble my winter tires from rims and take a picture and post

There is a mid year change in 14. You probably have the wrong sensors. The 16 sensors need to be RDE047 or you can get these made by Huf the same manufacturer https://www.tpmsbargains.com/Porsche...18-06-hufm.htm they are just programmable.

2014 early was a RDE048. Once you have the TPMS out you can double check via the part #

Anyone happen to know if these will work with a 2011 Cayenne? Already purchased and installed, and vehicle is not learning them yet... worried I grabbed the wrong ones, even though they specifically listed as working with 92A Cayennes...

This might be a dumb question, however, is there a way to force the computer to accept a different TPMS? I only ask because I found some information online below that says you can "flash" the computer to force it to recognize the new TPMS on some Mercedes, BMW, and Porsche vehicles. I don't know the validity of this, however.

These will not work. You need these https://www.tpmsbargains.com/Porsche...-9011-06-4.htm RDE011, RDE048 (more expensive) or UVS2000. All the same.

I will explain this for you. There are two key words - PROGRAM a sensor and RELEARN a sensor. Program a sensor can only be done on programmable universal sensors and those can be programmed for various PROTOCOLS for various vehicles. If you had programmable sensors AND your car can accept them you could re-program them with a TPMS tool. I think is what you are asking is the RELEARN process. Many cars have different RELEARN processes. They can either be: auto relearn where you install them and drive. Trigger tool relearn like with Ford and you use a little garage door opener thingy to tell the car what sensor is at what corner. Lastly an OBD relearn that you need a TPMS tool to tell the car where the sensors is.

Having said all that you still need a sensor that has the correct PROTOCOL for that vehicle. You cannot just take any sensor and make it work for a car unless they use the same protocol. A protocal is either already loaded in a sensor via the factory like many Porsche ones and those are DIRECT FIT and can't be changed. Other are programmable and you can load in the protocol via a TPMS tool.

Hope that helps.

That's perfect, thanks much. Simply purchased based off of "Cayenne 92A (All)" and got hosed.

Thanks!
