Ah, but most don't realize that the complimentary Porsche exclusive Starbucks contains rare Peruvian mountain goat 'stuff'.... do you have any idea what that stuff's worth?!?!?! So now knowing that fact, the oil change part actually accounts for only $300! Go for it!

The problem is resetting the oil service light. I do mine oil changes a lot and only take it to the dealer every 20K miles. That's the only time, I can get that message gone.

There are a number of tools capable of resetting the oil service light. Since you're doing your own oil changes it would seem wise to invest in tools that make this possible to do in a professional manner. But - to each his own..

You know there are several tools available to do that pretty reasonable money, right?

Your dealer charges that much because they can get away with it. Call several different Porsche dealers and you will find that pricing varies considerably between them.

Dealerships are different in charging prices. My last oil change and service was with Beverly Hills Porsche in California, and I was out the door at around $400 (my receipts are at home). I have seen a 918 in the Martini Racing colors (SUPER BEAUTIFUL AND AWESOME!) and GT3 RSs being serviced at my dealership. Yeah, each dealership is different in pricing. Also, finding a good SA will help. My SA has been great.
