Hello everyone. I am thinking about buying a 2016 Cayenne turbo with about 32,000 miles. How reliable are these vehicles? Do you believe I need an extended warranty for this vehicle? Has anyone heard d of liberty bell auto for extended warranty? Thank you all in advance

I just bought a very clean, highly maintained 2013 Cayenne S from my longtime Porsche dealer. It was the GM's demo for a bit but it wasn't CPO qualified but I still bought a 30 month 30K mile Powertrain Warranty they offered from Warranty Solutions.
It only cost $1975.00 and is transferrable w/ a $150 Deductible so it was a no-brainer for me as it specifically covers the TC, Transmission, Diffs and water pump, etc.

In general - extended warranties are a bet you're making with an insurance company where you bet the car is a POS and you're going to collect way more than the amount they'll cover, and their side of the bet is - that somehow they will not pay out more than they take in (which is only about half of the price you pay for the contract through a dealer. Markup is typically 100%.) Feeling lucky?
They have a bit of an advantage on this bet since they can just deny payments and you're stuck having to take them to court, at which point they'll refund some part of the cost of the policy and say they're done with you. They also have history on the failure rates/costs of the car - so they can adjust the contract prices to match. And no, I've never heard of "liberty bell auto" for extended warranties, which doesn't mean that they'll go belly up once you buy the warranty, but google "warranty gold" for a hint on what can happen.
I paid about $3k for a warranty on my '11 CTT - the warranty company paid out about $500 on an air-conditioning repair and the car just passed 100k so the warranty is done.. So - I'm out $2,500. They won the bet.

I bought a Fidelity platinum warranty on my 2012 Turbo. I think I paid $5k for 6 year/60k coverage starting when the factory warranty expired. Just a few weeks ago I had the transfer case replaced. That was close to $5k. Plus I had the rear a/c module replaced a couple of years ago and that was over $1k.
So I am on top with 3+ years of coverage left.

I think it might be more productive for you if you're worried about a transfer case to start reading the sticky transfer case thread... it's long but you'll learn a lot by reading it. No need to drag transfer case problems into a warranty discussion.
