Default 22" Tire Size

Hello all. I have been searching and searching and can find VERY little info on the setup I am going to try.. Is anyone out there running a 295/35/22 tire? I just ordered a set of 22x10.5 45 wheels and have found 2 manufactures that make the tire size 295/35/22. I realize the difference in the size compared to stock is 1" maybe less since they will be going on a 10.5 wheel instead of a 10" wheel. My end goal is the keep the same amount of sidewall while moving up to the 22" wheels. I have 21" wheels on it now, Its a 2013 Turbo. Anyone that may be running this setup please chime in.. Thanks

Here's an article that explains how to calculate diameter when you know the rim diameter and profile... https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiret...470776793!b!!g!!

I bought my 2011 CTT with 22" aftermarket rims. Tires are 295/30/22. The rims have a number of flat spots, caused by hitting potholes or bumps on the road. With such low sidewalls, you get very little give from your tires, and the rims take the hit. So I'm now in the market for 20" rims, before I buy new tires. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

That looks wonderful.

I'm wondering how much havoc that's going to cause on the car though? Transmission shift points, acceleration, braking and handling all have to be affected. Also gears and the such will probably wear much faster.

Can't deny that look though.

Thanks for the compliment.. I'm sure you are right about some wear and tear, but it did come with 21", so not a crazy upgrade.. The funny thing is the speedo was off by 3 mph according to my GPS, which really bugged me.. In reading about the new wheel and tire size I figured it would make my speedo correct with the 22's on. BINGO when I put the new wheels and tires on, I know show the correct speed. This was the manager of Porsche in West Palms car and he must have had 22's on it and had the service dept program if for them.. It was a pleasant surprise. This car also has the E81 so it still feel pretty quick. I also feel he had the values changed to make the car sit a bit lower. I had a module on my Macan Turbo and this one seems even lower.. I tore apart the back to check for a module, but found none.. Does it appear lower to you? I know you have great knowledge on these cars RAudi Driver. It is sitting in load mode in the pics.

Oh, your car is dropped for sure.

Is it bouncy at all. I'd go through all the lowering modules and try to locate where they all store their modules. If your car is bouncy, you might just have lowering links on. You can tell my looking under the car at the ride height sensors. They are popular but not the best way to lower a car. You may want to upgrade if you do have them. I hear Cargraphic makes a good lowering module. H&R's not so good.

No, not bouncy at all. I actually added the links about a week ago and it was ridiculously low and bouncy. I took them off immediately and that's what got me thinking.. Glad you say the same thing. Appreciate the help

I agree.. It also has an overall bigger tire and wheel setup than stock so it takes up about .50" more of the wheel well.. So it makes it look even lower. I hope Porsche doesn't change any settings when I go in for service.

the correct sizes for 22" would be 285/35/22 or 295/30/22.

I appreciate the help. My speedometer is perfectly correct now, as stated in the above thread. It was off with the stock 21" wheels. I do appreciate the effort.
