Any way to tell (visually) the camshaft bolt fix has been completed?
Apparently the Germans did not have a recall for the camshaft bolts (https://www.kba-online.de/gpsg/startServlet?adress=gpsg). Just curious how I would tell if I opened up the engine a bit (i.e., different bolt type, etc).
Porsche will only tell me if the vehicle I am looking at has had recalls complete. For those that had this work done prior to the recall, what did it cost/how many hours of labor?
Thanks.

Matt - have you read the buyers guide to the 958 that we have as a sticky? It is very clearly shown there how to identify the bad bolts vs the good bolts. All you have to do is remove the oil filler cap and find a dental mirror. That shouldn't be very hard.

Not a big surprise. Is there anything TUV can do about dangerous failures in an auto that has the potential to cause harm to individuals? You might get one going if TUV has any power like that since the same engine is subject to recalls in US, Canada, China and Japan. That pretty much makes the argument that your German car suffers the same potential to cause harm to occupants.
