Default Questions: Keyless entry and Burmiester stereo

Hi All

I wonder if I am missing a setting for the Keyless Go. The car unlocks when I grab the handle. But when I want to lock it i have to do it from the Fob? Is that the way it is supposed to work?

Our other CT had Bose. This has the upgraded stereo. So far I really do not hear much of a difference. What is so special about this Surmiester (however you spell it) system?

Loving the PCCB's

Yeah you have to lock it from the fob.

You can lock from the button on the door handle too. Black button on right side of driver door handle.

I pushed that and got nothing. Do I have to enable it somewhere? I will try again when I leave from work.

I can't remember if that needed to be activated in the menus but I do remember having to change mine to unlock all doors and not just drivers when I first got mine.

Make sure key is on you and push button hard. Sometimes if I push once, it won't do anything but the second time works. Can be just needing for the door handle to locate the key sometimes. Usually first try for me but sometimes second try is necessary.

Best information I could find from online manual. http://www.porscheownersmanuals.com/...remote-control

I do have it to unlock all doors. So I will go give it a try. Maybe not pushing it hard enough.

I would try all doors first. You may have a worn out or bad button. Consider "even out" the wear and tear on that button by opening and closing all your doors.

Mine seemed inconsistent, but I found out that won't lock just by pressing it quickly. I have to hold it for just a tad longer than what seems normal, so try holding the button down for a full second before walking away. Locks 100% of the time now that I have a feel for it.

Tim, when you press the black button on the door handle do you see a message on the multi-display screen "Key not recognized"?

I just went out and tried all 4 doors. No go. I will look for key not recognized tonight Kenny. I do get that error every so often when driving though.

Also, make sure your hand isn't inside the door handle at all when you're pressing the button..

And if it does LOCK the car - try holding the button down for about 10 seconds. You'll be surprised at what happens next..

Oh - on the Burmeiser - try to find a volume level where it distorts before driving you from the car in pain from the volume. I've never gotten it to distort. I have put it up loud enough that earplugs were definitely needed. Is it magic? For $5k it should be - but it is very very good compared to other auto audio systems.

Keep in mind it has to have the key nearby to lock from the button on the handle and if your phone or any other object is near that key it'll drop the signal range considerably.

Double tap the button before holding on the second tap to lock without the horn, keep holding and it'll fold the mirrors in...which you should be doing
