yep, I don’t think I’m gonna be able to justify a full custom catback though. Maybe an axle back in my future when the muffler falls apart

have you thought about the turbo s manifold and throttle body? I also just ordered cosmo racing ignition coils

I have.... And I saw a set for sale a while back. Those mods are a little too much for me. This is my first modern car and I'm not real comfortable making big changes like the bigger throttle body and manifold. I do however, think I could build my own exhaust though. With an exhaust and chip I will be content.

Trying to get my car tuned this week. Going with a friend's tuning company HD tuning. I was hoping this was just through the OBDII, but the Cayennes typically have to have the ECU removed, put in programming mode on the board, then put back together. Afterwards it will be programmable by OBDII. Not a big deal for me since thats my engineering roots. I'm with you guys on this is all for performance. Good to see some people putting real mods on the truck. Secondary cats are not doing as much work as primary- just for those concerned on the environment. They do not get as hot, and the hot gasses flowing across the cat core is what converts the CO to CO2 in a chem reaction.

I do wish there was not the porsche tax on exhausts. I've had much better quality cat back exhausts than what all these vendors sell around $3k- at a better price point in past cars.

Exactly this. But if you're real good with welding, maybe you can put a custom system together for less and sell to forum members on request.

i second the motion
would rather pay 1500 for a full 3” catback rather than the 4K they’re going for

I'd stay with stock pipe size. I don't want to have that raspy girgle sound. just a bit louder/deeper sound

I would think that has to do more with the muffler than the 2.76" etc vs 3" piping. Unfortunately as much as I love cars and wrenching- I'm a product and circuit board guy. I have worked on 3D Printing tech etc, but no welding experience at all. I do know a guy... For me that's too much work to properly mandrel bend, build jigs, flanges etc. However I wish someone came up with an interesting solution, or even do a big group buy. I don't think we have group buys do we?

No group buy. Probably because this isn't civic forum.
