Is it the plastic rubbing against the console, or the seat? Or is the connection itself rattling somehow? If it's the connection or the housing itself I'd simply replace the whole thing. It's cheap and if something in the past abused it enough to cause it to break I'd not want to trust it to actually work properly in an accident. Now, were this some $500 item made of unobtainium, I'd look into repairs or fixes to ameliorate the noise. Like perhaps some kind of tape or something (silicone 'rescue' tape comes to mind) to wrap the point of the noise to help silence it.

as always thanks for the help !
Have the same issue with the passenger side. Bought some felt pads with adhesive on one side and attached seat belt where it touches the seat. Works until the pad eventually falls off but I usually get over a year. Probably better to use some 3M double face tape to hold the felt.

Back to Black cleans up that stuff quite well, and lasts for a long time. It's good enough I've used it on my motorcycle (higher standards on that then just a CTT..) There is also a Honda spray-polish sold in motorcycle shops that works well.. makes them nice and black, but perhaps a tiny bit glossy.

I wouldn't get into a habit of using abrasive materials (like those erasers) on the matte (or any) plastics. Sure, lots of things "will work" but many come with longer term hassles. Cleaners are especially problematic as some will degrade the flexibility and UV resistance of the plastics. Not quite the case here, but it's worth considering it as you do further detailing.

thanks for the help at this point no other solution as the cleaners arent safe either so im stuck with the erasers and since I dont plan on allowing it to happen again It should be fine for one time.

As for the seatbelt buckle noise , I realized that it doesnt have a cover on the belt housing like the passenger one does, so my first question is why would it be missing the cover for the housing? could it have been damaged and replaced? I cant imagine it falling off . I ordered this part number , I guess I should have thought to ask you guys before ordering but just want to be sure I dont need another part number.

958-555-190-00

thanks again guys!

Pix? That part# doesn't bring up anything obvious online.

As for why it's missing, well, previously owned cars bring along all sorts of unexpected reasons for why things aren't right.

I'll take a look at mine tomorrow morning and see if I've got the same setup or not.

I think we need a highlighted picture - or arrows to help us see what's missing. Looks like the bottom one has a gap-filler - commercially available vinyl foam thingies that have a hole that goes over the seat buckle, and keep crap that falls out of your pockets from disappearing into the gap between the console and seat. At least that's what it looks like. They usually come in pairs...

Thanks Don

Whats missing is that whole rubber gray piece on the picture above the whole housing cover for the belt. I havent been able to find an exact fit but I may just find a vinyl cover but hate to have a flimsy aftermarket piece for a 80k car .

I just checked and my '17 does not have that on the driver side stalk.

The passenger side does have it.

I suppose then the question is, should it? Is there a series of mistakes made to the driver side stalk to have omitted that piece?
