Porsche Smart Module from NM Automotive auto Start-stop OFF
Have anyone purchase one of these smart module from NM automotive in UK?
it claims to be compatible with cayenne 2010-2018 and one particular function i'm very interested in is turning off the start-stop off function. Also other nice functions to have is wing mirrors fold on lock instead of pressing the hold button and tailgate close using the lock button.
If your main and only concern is start/stop. Find someone with PIWIS and change it.
Curious if PIWIS are able to disable Auto STOP/START? I have not heard or seen anyone successfully done this with North America Cayenne, i know its possible over sea.
Many people buy the T Design module to turn this feature off but i'm not comfortable taking off the center console to install it.
Mine is a 2011. I saw in Customer Specific coding of PIWIS to set the start/stop to last used. So, you don't actually turn it off, just set it to keep last used and if you turn off on the center console, it should keep that setting.

Doubt they will work, 2011-2014 once you turn them off they stay off. 2015 and up due to EPA compliance they can't not be turn off
Start/Stop is the lamest. Hardly does anything really to save much if you look into it. At idle you could leave the car on all day and barely use any gas.
Fortunately I have an SEH, and hardly notice when the engine cuts in/out.

I'm sure it does something since tests would prove otherwise and gas EPA wouldn't be able to reach certain numbers, thus legally they wouldn't be able to advertise those numbers. My only thought was always that if you're in traffic a lot, would it kill your starter faster and i'm thinking it would wear it out faster than others who don't use it as much.

It saves 3-10% in heavy traffic. So 1-2 mpg in those instances. The reason manufacturers are doing it, is to meet various fuel economy standards. Over millions of cars it adds up, just annoying as it isn't smooth on most gasoline only cars (at least the ones I've driven with it).
Oooo! I have a diesel so the start/stop isn't a big draw, but some of the other things are very interesting, especially the sunroof closing when it starts to rain. I prefer to keep mine vented in the summer and we do get freak (not Florida like, but still unexpected) showers that pop up out of nowhere...

Interestingly the macan loaner I had the other day- once you turn it off- its off every time I restarted the car.
So there has to be a way. There is a PIWIS at a local DIY place in San Jose. I was thinking of checking it out to see what settings there are. 1st gen PIWIS so not sure how much it can do on the 958.2 CS.
i've '15 CTT for few weeks now- last week was at dealer -asked tech if he could turn off/disable auto start stop- he wasn't sure so he connected to PIWIS & said when he turned *** off many fault codes lit up - said he didn't think he could do it. It was just a quick try with no charge but think he would have done it if he could have.
There is a sensor attached to the negative lead of the starter battery, disconnect small plug, job done, if you don`t like, reconnect it, it works on most cars.

Probably will throw a code and cayenne battery is not the easiest to access.

It's easy to remove/reinstall the various bits to install the T Design module. The only tool required is a torx screwdriver to remove two screws under the ashtray.
