I normally just have 1 folder per Album with MP3 songs in it (like 10 or 20 songs)


what is the best way to organize these files?

Whatever you decide (I went with artist/album/trackname.mp3) it's really handy to use J,River media center software to handle the copying to the drive. Set up a handheld for the media (treat the USB dongle or card like a 'device') and it'll handle converting the media (if necessary|desired) along with setting up folders and renaming tracks.
