good options for 2012 Cayenne V6 Brakes
I have a 2012 Cayenne base model V6. Its my daily driver. Just had the "BRAKE" light come on saying pads are low. Any good options for brake pads aftermarket, or am I best to stick with OEM pads? where is the best place to get them for a good deal?

have a look at FCPeuro and azautohaus for good aftermarket choices. Usually textar, jurid, akebono, ATE, or TRW are the oem supplier. there may also be choices like akebono euro ceramics for less dust, but also less initial bite

Do brake pad sensors need changed out with the pads? I only have 52k on the car. Got it with 28 on it. So I’m assuming they haven’t been changed before.

The sensor doesn't just break. The pads are gone - and the sensors tend to break when you try to remove them from the old brake pads - so I always buy new ones. If the warning light is on - one of the sensors is already broken since it only comes on when the wire at the end of it wears through.

I’m sorry. I wasn’t quite done with this thread already. I’ve got a lot of questions. I do appreciate any information. I’ve done quite a bit of lookingmon google and eBay. Just want to make sure I’m getting oem quality but not dealership prices. Thanks for the help so far. Just been a bit busy lately and feeling overwhelmed.

I am having a hard time finding any pads in stock for my cayenne. The dealership has them with the sensors but I’m not wanting to spend 1,000 on brakes. Are there any vendors on here that may have these in stock?

ok, if you have the standard base brakes:
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/por...51-seb-909351c

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/aud...mann-7l8615301
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/aud...alo-7l6615302e
either of those two options are fine
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/por...or-95835193930
those should be the original pads for your car, but I would call the dealer to double check the part number as cayenne brakes had a lot of different options.
FCP euro offers free shipping and a lifetime warranty. Their pricing is generally very competitive.
good luck

Thanks for the help. Are rotors typically changed with pads? I spoke to my service writer at Porsche he said they typically don’t resurface rotors because it never is the results they want. They recommend replacing. I think my rotors are fine. Lots of thickness and no shimmy.

there is usually a thickness measurement imprinted on the rotor. quick and dirty way is to see if there is a lip on the edge of the rotor. It sounds like you may not need rotors
that said, for $170 delivered, I'd probably just buy a set, but also probably not crucial

I purchased the brakes for my Cayenne Diesel from AutohausAZ. Their prices may not be the absolute best until you factor in free shipping on 150 pounds of brake parts. Their customer service is excellent to boot.
By the way: with regards to the rotors, the spec that Porsche provides for replacing the rotors is wear greater than 1mm. I chose to replace my rotors at 66k miles as they were worn beyond this point. And while we're on the subject of mandatory replacements, You'll want to pick up a set of Caliper stretch bolts from Suncoast (they sell them in a convenient kit) these fasteners are one time use.
