Default Anybody had to replace tie rods?

So my 11CS drives very well, but I've noticed at a stop or very low speed, there is a very slight knock and some very minor play in the steering when say leaving a parking spot or moving the wheel back and forth a little bit fairly quickly (for testing purposes).

I haven't been under the truck to investigate, but I've seen no reference to these being replaced so I'm wondering if this is a normal condition and I'm just overly sensitive?

Anyone done this job? Lemforder parts are cheap so if I'm the first then I don't mind throwing some parts at it.

Thanks

I haven't even got my 2011 CS yet, but I would figure it's tough to diagnose without seeing the car. Those rods usually simple to check. All other cars I've owned with city driving were worn and although worked. Once replaced, felt great.

Quad,

I didn't experience anything like that on my CTT. It had 113k miles when I sold it.

Quad - can't say I've experienced that on my '11 CTT with 90k miles on it - but you are in North Jersey, where the roads are even more abominable than in the shore area, so it's possible. It's easy enough to check.. watch the tie-rod ends while someone wiggles the wheel on center. Make that someone you trust not to put the truck in gear while you're under there watching.

Is there abnormal tire wear for signs of worn parts before replacing parts? Cayenne handling is not as precise as 911s and Boxsters..

I had a similar symptom with what turned out to be the beginning of the transfer case going bad. Intermittent tire juddering with the wheel turned sharply when backing out of a parking space or turning wheel at very slow speeds. I noticed the symptoms at the very end of the mileage warranty period but by the time it became a somewhat obvious problem it was out of warranty. $4100 repair at 60,000 miles. Ouch. A forum sticky thread above is available if you want to read more about the transfer case issues. Hope this isn't your problem or if it is you are under CPO warranty.
