removing tow package 2014
To remove the tow package I think you need to pull the rear bumper . Once removed is there a cover that goes in place where it once was located?

I installed a hitch in mine 9 months ago.
I have the regular non-hitch bumper beam (which you will need) in my basement. Let me know if you are interested.
It's a pretty easy job, took maybe 2.5 hrs.

Take the bumper off, then If you truly want to remove the whole thing, have to pull the trailer tow module from the trunk(right side above wheel well area) and the wires to the trailer hitch. Then take off the hitch(4 bolts total if I remember right), and replace with non hitched bumper beam(different bolts to replace). Then reattach bumper.
I installed the oem hitch and module and took 2.5-3 hrs at a slow pace reading while I was working.

It’s pretty simple for the outside stuff. The interior is a bit harder and that’s just because you’re using interior trim pry tools to remove plastic covers. If you have it done professionally it’ll cost a lot most likely.
