So this is the Pennzoil Platinum Euro LX 0W-30, ran over the entire winter. It's done fine. The only thing is that trace bit of fuel in the gas. It's been a fairly nasty winter, even by our standards, but the car didn't misfire and there are no misfire codes (or engine codes of any sort). Anybody got any theories? It's probably nothing.

It would be nice to compare this to the stock Mobil1 ESP, if anyone has that.

A good source for all things Motul is going to Spec Lube: http://www.speclube.com/

They are direct distributor of ours and are located in the GTA and have a retail front. Hope that helps. -Nick
Getting anything in DE is a nightmare :P

Too thin for hot climates. I'll stick with a 5W variant.

About to do an oil change with Liqui Moly in about 1000 miles.

I'm back on Motul for the summer. Either oil seems like a good choice. Note in the reports that Pennzoil had slightly more viscosity but a slightly lower flashpoint. Both are very close (Pennzoil was lower mileage too).

I've found a third compatible oil that people seem to be raving about over here. The OEM might be Citgo (5W30 has VW 504/507):

I don't know if I'll get around trying this one. This can be had for US$20 for a 5L jug, when on sale, which is just ridiculously cheap. Diesel folks should love this one as you can just keep changing it.
