Default DIY Oil Change and Warranty

What documentation and procedures do you need to do your own oil changes and show proof in case something happens that will normally be covered. Dealerships normally want to see proof of maintenance.

I keep copies of the receipts for the oil/filter/etc and retain part of the filter box and the oil bottle in a loose leaf binder.

I take photos of receipts, parts and consumables, plus I take a photo of the old filter and the oil jug label showing the appropriate approval/rating. I drop them all in the folder where I keep all files for that specific vehicle, and then delete the folder when the vehicle goes. It only takes a few seconds.

I have my spouse photograph me doing the oil change while holding a copy of that day's newspaper. Then I place the used oil, filter and washer into a lucite box, labeled with date/mileage, and sealed with evidence tape. If Porsche STILL denies my warranty repair, then I pull the security camera footage.
