Default Any alternatives to Silver/Chrome Vents?

Hello all..

My wife loves her '13 GTS but not a week goes by without her regretting the way the silver/chrome vents look. She doesnt care for the silver/chrome and wishes they were matt/leather in finish.

I have contemplated having the vents wrapped in leather or even vinyl but wondering if there is a plug and play solution..

Any ideas?

Yes - leather vents are a factory option. You probably can find them by searching an on-line Porsche dealer's parts drawings. Bet they are very expensive. Finding them used is unlikely.. I've never seen them in real life - just in option photos.

Lordy, you need to wrap stuff like that in spoiler tags or something. I just ate and nearly threw up seeing that. Yikes.

Flame suit ON!

I know what I am about to share is not for everyone..

I bought some Matte Black vinyl Wrap from amazon to try and see how bad/horrible it would be to just wrap the vents. I expected nothing and it was just something to do while I was off from work for 9 days

Well, I have to say, I am surprised by how easy it was to do this. lot of patience, wife helping with heat gun and it took us about 20 minutes to do the first one, took 10 minutes to do the 2nd one.

Indeed, looks like it turned out nicely. Let us know how it holds up. Especially over winter/summer temp ranges.

quick cell phone pic...

will see how it holds up....

as my wife pointed out so well, this is how the vents should have been in the first place.. which is probably why vents on 2019 (center console) are black

Very nice job!

I see that you have the aluminum belt line trim. How does she feel about that? If she doesn't like it, I have a set pristine new set of Piano Black belt line trim that I'm selling.
