Hi guys,

Anyone refinish them before? I have the, off and realized how much they seem cosmetically worn. Is it s quick sand and spray paint? Anyone have an idea what color/type of spray is closest to original?

I believe it's the same siding as the alum window covers, so if anyone has refinished those, might be helpful insight as well.

They are easy to remove and look great when re-painted. I actually had my 20" sport techno rims and the rails professionally re-finished at same time using the same silver. They still look perfect several years later.

 

Great thanks for the feedback. I ended up buying matte black spray paint and painted them last night. Haven't reinstalled, but will send pictures. I also found a can of rust-o-Leum that looks like it will be very similar to the original that I can paint over if the matte black doesn't look as cool as I think it should

Can roof rails be purchased? I am looking at an 08 GTS but it does not have the rails. It does have the receptors for rails though...

 

Do I see caps on those presta valves?

 

Yes, everything has a price. I'm pretty sure you can buy them new from Porsche, or you can buy them on the secondary market. I bought mine from a local guy who sold his TT for a Tesla.

 

Haha, eagle eyed. My only excuse is it's the wife's bike and she's dead convinced that it's cheap insurance.

She also has MTB platform pedals that weigh close to a pound on a full carbon frame because she's afraid of clipping in.
