Default Odd one....interior warning sound changed?

Our 08 CTT decided to start making a new noise.

The usual "ding" or warning that you hear when things like seat belt, key out of range, and other warnings went from the usual "ding" to a "BUZZZZ" sound instead. Like a distorted "ding"

Anybody ever hear of anything like this? Didn't see if it was an option to change the sound.........

Not unusual at all. The dinger is going bad. It's a tiny loudspeaker located under the dash on the port side of the vehicle. There are places that offer to repair it. Eventually it will go from buzzzz to silence. Not an uncommon failure on the 955/957 series.

Some searching here will likely turn up more than one thread on fixing it.

Thank you! I found a lot of threads when searching about no sound at all but didn't see anything about them failing a slow miserable death.

Appreciate it.

I think it's an odd-ball piezo type of speaker - so it's sorta specific to the car. I know there were some advertised I think on ebay for not big money.

Good luck!
