Default 08 Cayenne S purchasing question

Good morning. I've owned 5 928s as a means of pushing my frustration levels to the max. Loved them all, but looking to move on to a Cayenne. I've found an '08 S with about 85,000 miles. Asking price $18,000. I know this forum will be honest with me, so I thought I'd reach out for advice.

The car itself seems to run great. I love it. Maintenance history fairly good, but last full service was at 60,000 miles. Tires aren't bad. Carfax does show a 'minor' wreck: front damage, airbags did not deploy.

Is this a fair price? Also, any advice or warnings?

I've read tons of posts about typical issues and what to expect, but I figured I'd ask for advice anyway.

Sincere thanks in advance for any input.

major service due at 80k miles. $1,000 - $3,000 depending on where you take it.

Price is about right - that's what I got for a trade-in on an '06 S Titanium edition (lipstick on a pig edition, or lets get these puppies out the door..) a year ago. Same sort of miles, except mine was fully serviced and fully documented and had a clean title (no hits, no bumps, nothing odd..)

Thank you both (7 Summits and deilenberger). I figure with the 80k service, and tires sooner than later, I'll be okay.... as long as the service doesn't bring to light any major needs. But driving it is SO much better than my current daily driver, an 08 Acura MDX. The MDX has been flawless, but I want faster

That price is very close to Kelly Blue Book retail dealer price for an '08 S (kbb.com). The vehicle should be in EXCELLENT condition for that price. I got pretty much the same vehicle for a little more than that (from a dealer) back in June, but it appeared to be a new vehicle except for half a dozen minor scratches on the polished sill plate in the cargo hold. No nicks/scrapes on wheels, no stone nicks on the nose, windshield looks new (usually there is some sandblasting with that many miles on the vehicle), no door dings, as-new paint, everything inside was as new except drivers Porsche carpeted floormat which looked only mildly used. You can also check TrueCar to see what kinds of values come up for other'08 Cayenne S models sold in your region.

Starter and axle replacement will **** you off. So will that battery under the seat. Water pump and thermostat might die soon too. If it has 21" wheels be ready to get to know your tire guy real well.
