Default Vinyl side stripes on Cayenne - Opinions?

Just messing around in the garage with some vinyl during the winter.
Wanted some opinions. yes, all opinions.
I am not married to this. Just having some fun. Easily peeled off.

Whaddya guys think? too cheesy? with stripe / without stripe?
so far this has cost me $19 in material (lunch money).

I've even toy'd with some very thin subtle strips down the hood on both sides right where the crease drops down towards the fenders. Tapered to a point near the nose. Thickest in the center of the hood, and tapers back to about 1" up near the windshield.

I just have so much WHITE on my 958 CTT, that I feel the need to break things up a bit.
Not digging my winter 19" rims in these pics, but still have a few more months before switching back to 21"s.

Also saw these threads, but decided to start a new one. All other side stripe pictures of YOURS are welcome!

I think your car would look super clean without the stripes - I have the same color GTS with black rims and love it. Not a fan of stripes/decals on any car, so I might be an outlier. Too boy racer for me.

I know it's subjective... but sublety is always a Porsche attribute. To each his own...

That's kinda why I'm having trouble with it. Even though I feel the need to spruce /race it up.

I know there's several camps out there,... De-Badge,... Badge. I happen to fall into the Badge camp. I grew up working hard for everything I got,.. and feel as though I have earned the right to badge my toys. I don't mind people knowing what it is. Prefer it actually.

anyway,... my first impression when I took it outside & stepped back,.. was that the black stripe, where it narrows down to single,... is too thin. Needs to be more bulky. Maybe I'll re-work that part before I take it all off....

we'll see. I gotta head to a hockey game tonight anyway,... so I guess I'm driving it as is for a couple days...

It's your car do what you want man... It's not going to make a mechanical difference. Personally I would leave this to the ricer cars out there like the 1995 Honda with the muffler mod and stuff but I love Hondas anyway I just wouldn't do it to my Honda either lol.

It doesn't look bad it just looks immature is all. That's my honest opinion.

But I do hear the stripes add up to 20HP+ more at the wheels

Good luck!

Looks boy-racer to me too. I think the main function those graphics will serve will be to increase your odds of a ticket.

I think that it's a beautiful car without the vinyl. Don't need anything else, already turns heads.

If you're going to do text, shouldn't it at least be in a Porsche font?

I recall seeing an amazon vendor with a stripe set. Could be similar stuff on aliexpress or ebay.

Not a fan of any Porsche with the model name on the sides. It's your car, so if you like it, do it.

I also have a lot of brand stickers from all the stuff I've bought on my cabinet door in the garage. LOL

Maybe we should switch this thread to .... Garage Stickers ...

.... all the things we plaster with stickers from products purchased.
I haven't ever seen a RL pic thread like that!!

What else are you guys doing during the winter?? I guess you're all hunkered down doing real important things like brake jobs,.. clutches,... and oil changes...

My 964T is all ready for Amelia Island,... and since I love tinkering in my garage,... I'm bored.

Gotta find something to media blast....

Well, you asked for opinions.

Mine is pretty much the same. Not to my taste. The "Twin Turbo" and the checkered area at the back make it worse.

I get the idea of some sort of stripe to define the lines. They are kinda hard to see on a white car.

My white 944 has a thin, twin black stripe running from the front of the fender, just below the top edge, along the side, just below the window line. It goes all the way back.

If you feel a need for striping, try that.

And yeah, I get the "sticker thing." my smaller 'travel' tool box has all the promo stickers on it.

I'm a parachute rigger, and my tackle box that is my portable kit has a variety of stickers from various gear makers on it.

And the golf cart we use around the DZ is just covered.

I say nope. If you wanted to do just the twin turbo where you placed that and do it in the same script that's on the back, that might look good. Maybe do it in the same silver color as your wheels - that would make it more subtle. Also, how about changing out the yellow side markers for clear with yellow LEDs in them - I think Suncoast has these for your model year now.

I too have been playing with graphics recently and just created an under-hood pad for my fiberglass Misha widebody kit and needed to dress that up a bit.

Agreed. The "Twin Turbo" looks like you went down to Pep Boys and slapped it on. No offense. Perhaps something like the old Carrera script running on the bottom or just "PORSCHE" running on the bottom of both doors in black?
