LED turn signal - these ones seem really cool, anyone try it out?
I was looking at getting the clear turn signal / side lamp + smoke tint from suncoast along with some LED light replacement options when I ran into these:
But for a 957, was wondering if anyone got one of these.
Those actually look pretty good. If I hadn't deleted the side markers with my Misha kit, I probably would have opted for something like that. I still don't understand why the stock lights are designed to shine down onto the tire/wheelwell as well as out to the side.
I think it does 2 things, lets cars see it from the side, because it is supposed to be a turn signal light.
If you look at the lights, they have a blanked off socket for a bulb. I wonder if in other markets, this was a seperate higher wattage bulb, that is tied to the turn signal, and will flash brighter than the side marker light, but cause both the wheel well and the side to apear to flash.
If the side markers are off, it works just like a regular flasher.
If I could find a socket I would modify mine like this, and see if it triggers a code or not:
Old thread, but has anyone ever got these successfully wired up? I got them physically in, but the wiring has them just on solid amber, even with the white wire connected to 12v.

Your front module MAY be coded to have those lights be only side markers instead of actual turn signals. You would need a PIWIS, Durametric Pro (not Enthusiast) or similar tool to be able to change the coding of that module to use those lights as turn signals.
