Kjbu, I would first install your rims on the vehicle before showing her an unfinished product. If she still resists the new color, see below.

Explain to your wife that you chose this color because it matches her favorite lipstick and every time you approach or leave the vehicle, you will be thinking of her and how beautiful she is. If she fails to accept this alibi, I would suggest that you follow the recommendations of either SeanR or LexVan.

I got in big heck for painting a Motorcycle Bright Yellow a few years back, and again this year when I ordered a 991.2 TTS which as we all know comes with Bright Yellow Calipers. On the Caliper side I told to take it up with Porsche. Red she is OK with, her Boxster-S has Red Calipers. Like the Red-Green Man Prayer says, "I'm a Man and I am Sorry"

I still have the Yellow bike, and she still comments when she sees me on it. It has become a family joke by now.

It's your car and your wife, so only you can answer it. But you probably won't go wrong repainting them to a color she likes

At least it's not Lime Green like a Panamera calipers... What a terrible thing to do to a car! IMO
