Make sure they have tickets available - big event - may be sold out.

It is pretty simple to get in and out, the park is laid out and just be prepared to walk, wear hat, shades, have ear protection(shooters headgear is good).

Just be patient, not real line sitting for too long, HUGE place.

If you have grandstand seats, try to get parked closest to the grandstand.

I went there for MotoGP last year. You will have a blast.
There's not much to see when you walk from turn 11 to turn 12, I recommend just turning around and walking back through turns 10, 9, 8, etc.
Don't stumble walking down from turn 1, it's steep and you will roll for awhile (it wasn't me, just some random drunk guy).

We went a few years ago and had a great time. Managed to get some good seats and a parking pass off the local craigslist on Saturday. At the event we were parked in one of the back lots and had to wait forever to get out after everything was finished. When getting food try and stop at one of the local food trucks they bring in as opposed to a normal vendor.
