Default Folding Mirror with a mind of it's own

06 Cayenne S
Drivers side mirror will cycle itself on startup 50% of the time.
Requires folding both then opening to sync things back up.
Loud snapping sound as the mechanism re-engages the mirror.
Anyone been thru this?
Tips on repair and/or disassembly much appreciated.
Thanks

Default

I also have an 06 CS and I'm experiencing a similar problem with the loud snapping sound, although I haven't isolated it enough to tell if is both mirrors or just the passenger side. I don't fold the mirrors in much but so far I've definitely noticed it on the passenger side. Not sure if it is pertinent, but the downward turning mirror feature in reverse gear was switched on at the time. Any suggestions?

Default mirror

I replaced the relay under drivers seat next to the battery. This corrected the mirror problem and warning lights that kept popping up.
2006 Cayenne S. Hope this helps.

Default David, was both of your mirrors acting up?

Is there a seperate relay for each side?
Any part numbers or other info on the exact location?
Thanks
