Question Porsche Cayenne S 2011 Bluetooth audio cuts out

Hi Cayenne forum,

Car: Porsche Cayenne S 2011 w/ Nav.

Problem: When listening to music from my phone via Bluetooth the music will cut out for a split second. This happens about 10-15 times per song! It has become very annoying (especially if you like to sing along LOL)... I have tried multiple phones and devices and they all do the same thing.

Would a firmware upgrade to the unit help? When I go into the stereo and select "system version" I see 2.7... Does this mean I have a 2.7 PCM? Does anyone know what I could upgrade to?

Also thinking of replacing the head unit all together. I see outfits selling head units for my car with 3.1 PCM. But again I'm not sure if this means I will be upgrading my unit and if it will even work.

I have scoured the internet trying to find a solution to this and at the end of my rope here.

Thanks in advance.

Check with your friendly local dealership. There was a "recall" (official required update) to the software - came out about 6 months ago. One of the things addressed in it was Bluetoof..

Try turning off wifi on your phone and see if that helps. Worked for me. I have received an Pcm update recently but haven't tested it yet to see if the upgrade fixed the problem.

Thanks deilenberger, I found your other post where you mentioned the PCM upgrade and replied to that also. I did not find anything on http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov. Do you have any more information on it that I can take to the dealer? Thanks in advance.

Texas993, I have already tried that. But thanks for your reply. its appreciated.

WF27..

And if you're registered with Porsche-US you should be getting notices of things like this (like the pedal-cluster recall too.. the most recent one.)

So I called the dealer and gave them my Vin#. They claim my car is not affected by WF27. I'm pretty sure it's because they don't want to do it. Is there a way I can make them install it? that is, if it's compatible with my car of course. Not sure if "Bluetooth cutting out" would be enough for them.

I went ahead and registered with http://www.porsche.com/usa but not sure if I will get any letter. :-(

Anyhow I will keep trying.

Thanks,

Sergio

CALL PorscheNA - and ask them what open recalls are on your vehicle.

Not sure what you mean by PorscheNA... sorry I'm not familiar. Do you mean Porsche North America? I don't see anything listed for North America.

I appreciate all the help you've giving me.

http://www.porsche.com/usa/aboutpors...snorthamerica/

Porsche Cars North America

1-800-PORSCHE (1-800-767-7243)

That's assuming you're in North America (it might be useful to fill out your user profile so we would know this..) If you're not - find your local Porsche importer/company/whatever and use the phone. You'll get an immediate response that way.
