Default Spare wheel

So I get a call from my wife that she had a flat tire (I`m out of town with work for a few days) so I call roadside assistance and they fit the spare

What she didn't tell me was that she drove it flat for an extended period and the tire is trashed (Grrrrr)

The other tires are around 50% (thats a guesstimate) so what are my options?

Can I get away with replacing one tire or will it wreak havoc with the AWD system? If so am i looking at a pair (it was a rear that got ruined so the rear pair)?

At present it has 20" wheels so is it ok to drive on with the spare fitted? Or is it a short term solution only?

Spare is a short term solution only.
Get a pair and you're all set.

You need two new tires. You will destroy the differential running around with a worn and a new tire on it. Someplace in the manual I know I saw a maximum difference in wear that is permissible - it's not a lot.

If cost is really an issue - aside from owning the wrong vehicle - you might take a look on eBay for a used tire that matches the wear on your current one.

You may ask tirerack if u purchase from them. They do offer tire shaving for competition tires so you may ask if they can do it on a street tire. Otherwise like one mentioned you need two tires. Mike

I've gone the ebay route in the past on a different AWD vehicle and the used tire worked out fine. Make sure you know the DOT mfg date in addition to the tread depth so that you get a tire that is close in age and wear.
