There is NO vehicle that can excel in all categories at once. When you run all the numbers, though, the cayenne checks a lot of boxes pretty well—especially when one considers its mass.

FWIW a 2008 ml63 and 2008 cayenne turbo both weigh about that same (just over 2 1/2 tons). I dont see how the ML is such a bigger vehicle. Are you sure you arent thinking of the GL?
It seems to be taller with a bigger trunk. I've had a few loaners from mb. We have a 2014 glk350 and the trunk is worthless, lease is up on a few months. We also have a 2016 hyundai santa fe 3 row fully loaded for the wife. Excellent baby hauler. But my car will have to be used during winter once the glk is gone. And no I absolutely wouldn't be racing around with the babies in the vehicle, I'm not nuts.

I have a GMC Typhoon that traps at 125. I was thinking of replacing it with an E55...

I'd rather have a cl600/cl55/cl65 (2003-2006).. It doesnt take much to get the cl600 into 600+hp/700+ftlbs. Even if more problematic the ABC is a better suspension setup than airmatic.

Belatedly @forcefed
2008 ML Dimensions : 189-190″ L x 75-77″ W x 72-73″ H
2008 Cayenne Dimensions: 189″ L x 76″ W x 67″ H

So nearly the same except for height.
