Question '09 turbo or '09 GTS

I'm looking at buying a cayenne. I currently own a'84 928S. My question is should I purchase a ?twin turbo or the GTS? The prices are within a few thousand of each other. The mileage are close also. I love both, the power of turbo the looks of GTS.

Turbo, turbo and turbo. Looks pale in comparison to power.

Top choice for people that actually like to drive should be GTS 6-Speed. Not as blazing fast as Turbo, but choosing your own cog is much more satisfying. Also, better looking, and more unique.

Most here will tell you a Turbo, because of power and retained value. I however am with dave911 on this one.
I believe the GTS is a bit more unique, and frankly has plenty of power.

I have an 09 CTTS & 08 GTS... turbo has stunning power and handles well, but GTS is noticeably better handling. It feels lighter and more nimble. And just to qualify the comparison, both cars are equiped with PDCC.

Drive both and then look at the options you want.
I wanted PDCC. Seems like most turbo's (Standard on turbo S) have it while a hit or miss with the GTS.

I went with the turbo

I've heard it stated more than once that the 6spd has long throws and isn't the sportiest setup.

And the clutch costs six grand to replace.

Shifter length issues. Really?!? Not an issue at all.

I sure would hate to get a $6K bill for a clutch tho, but I hate auto trannies even more. I'm still a CPO vehicle, but I'd guess the $6K bill could be more in the $3-4k range with the right Indy.

This whole conversation is kinda dumb. Few here have driven, or ever will drive, a manual GTS cuz there are soo few. And ALL of these SUVs are simply fantastic modes of transport.

So whatever. Do what makes you happy.

If I had known then what I know now, I would still the GTS. Non PDCC GTS handled better in every respect than the PDCC turbo (mine has GTS looks). You can't compare the power, but I now have a modded 996 turbo to scratch that itch

I vote for GTS. It's a driver's car. I test drove one and wish we had bought it, but wife did not want a manual for every day commuting.

Did the OP ever say 6spd manual was even an option?

Anyway, these types of threads are nothing more than folks telling you that the model they own is the best option. That being said, go with a Turbo.

Corso - Hahaha!! Yes that's TRUE. So I'm IN. I'll end up doing the SAME thing here.

uuuh, yea,... but most of us have a 911 or other low slung car to scratch itches,... but many of us have a SUV for other reasons too (towing, hauling sport equip, kids, etc)...

So get BOTH!! I absolutely LOVE my PDCC/PTV Turbo, that LOOKS like a GTS (including the double rear wing spoiler!!)...
