Default 2008 CTT coil part number

Hey all,

Is 948 602 104 21 the latest incarnation of the 2008 CTT coil? I am trying to order a set and everyone has different part numbers.

Also, any suggestions for a great place to purchase would be great. I usually order from Sunset, but open to ideas.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
TomF

TomF it looks like that is the latest revision from what I can find. I also own a 2008 CTT. Just curious to why you are replacing yours? Acting up? Symptoms?

i was told by Sonnen Porsche that the 21s aren't for DFI engines, so the 13s are the latest for that.

I just bought 8 of them through Sonnen

This is the sequence that I found for the DFI coils revisions: 94860210406 94860210402 94860210410 94860210411 94860210412 94860210413

My understanding is that the coils are outsourced from 3rd party suppliers (e.g. Bosch) so its not a Porsche specific problem, lots of other vehicles have coil issues too

i have a 2008 CTT with exactly the same mileage and I didn't think I needed coils so I just did the spark plugs first, then I thought, wth, I'm close to 100k, the coils have put out enough service, I'll replace them.

Immediately after replacing the coils, the car ran like garbage, idle was extremely rough, the fuel mapping was all wrong, it was evident that the ECU was re-learning and after a few minutes, the engine was running buttery smooth.

I had no symptoms of a poor running engine before, but I guess when the performance diminishes every so slightly as time goes on, you become immune to the difference and think everything's normal until you refresh it all again.

That's what my thinking is in replacing them. I think that the degradation is so gradual that you don't even notice. Besides, at 80k, there is no point in waiting for one to fail and have the CEL come on...
