Question Hitch Install Wiring Question

Hey guys,
Just bought my wife a 2011 Cayenne S.
I'm about to place an order for a Curt hitch and trailer wiring.

I've read a few threads with conflicting info on what is needed.

Do these already have some trailer wiring in them?
What parts/modules do I need to order?

Thanks in advance
Drew

Yes, all you need is the electrical mount. Sun coast sells them for $20. You just take the cover cap off (4 screws) and insert and reinsert 4 screws. Comes with the 7 pin. You really want to go OEM, gives you 7700 # towing capacity. Again, Sun coast sells the kit for $1k.
Do you have the hitch already but no electrical connector? That would be unusual. Also, do you have the receiver w 2" ball? I have a brand new one for sale in the market. GL.

Default Curt Hitch

The folks that installed a Curt Hitch on my 2012 CTT swore up and down that it is the same hitch used by Porsche, at a much lower price point.

Hey, no I do not have a hitch already. I'm going to order the Curt hitch and I need to know what I should do about wiring.
I've looked under there and there is currently no wiring that I can see.

They are wrong. The design isn't even similar.

Has been discussed. Search is your friend.

Here is my journey. https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...s-missing.html

I have no regrets having the dealer do it all. First rate job. I got two quotes from two dealers and my primary servicing dealer was less expensive by about 12% if I recall.

In theory you could order the kit from Suncoast. last quote from them was $1000ish and included everything. The dealer quoted me 4.5 hours. So I double that for me as I take my time. You would still have to take a trip to the dealer for the PWIS update.

Good luck!
