Default What To Look For When Buying Used???

Hey guys,
Looking to pick up a Cayenne for the wife.
We are looking at several different ones.
2008-2009 Turbo or a 2011+ S or Turbo

Are they any major or potential issues I should look for?

Care to elaborate?
I know what a CPO vehicle is and the benefits to them but any reason specific to the Cayenne?

Well you don't need to worry about any potential issues if you get a CPO.

I'm selling my 2011 v6 and it still has about 1.5 years left on the warranty.

I understand that. I was asking, if I'm unable to find one that's CPO, what should I look for?

I would definitely go 2011 or newer for the many reasons stated on other threads. Second unless your wife is a performance nut I would stay away from the turbo as it will have extra maintenance. The "S" is great with a solid v8 but do not discount the V6 and in 2013 they introduced the V6 diesel ( my wife and I both drive Diesel Cayennes and are completely happy with them) and diesel is finally getting reasonably priced compared to gas.

CPO ( Certified Pre owned) extends the factory warranty (not an aftermarket warranty) to 6 years and 100,000 from the time the vehicle was first put in service.

This is the kind of info I was looking for. Thanks.

What are the reasons to go 2011^?
My wife is digging a 2009 GTS.

2011+.

Newer technology in the cars is a huge one ie Bluetooth
They don't have the major problems that the previous generations have had (at least to my knowledge)
Many have a CPO
Updated body style

Test drive both.

You will notice the differences. Also note with the S, turbo, gts, you will get the big V8 which will require a little more maintenance and you will get around 12-15 mpg

I get 18+ MPG in my 2011 CS DD with a 15 mile commute on surface streets.

Before we got the diesels we had a 2011 "s" that we put over 40,000 miles on and got 18 plus in town, 24 plus on Texas highways 75 mph legal) and almost 13 pulling the enclosed trailer. With the diesel it is25 in town, up to 34 plus on the highway and almost 20 pulling the same trailer and plenty of "get up and go"

The 2008-2010 cayennes are still great and anecdotally quite reliable. Also, throughout the range... the turbos dont require very much *extra* maintenance (as stated above). If you have the coin for a 958 (2011+) then by all means. But since since nice 957's can be had for 25-35k they represent great value for the money. I even love my ('old') 2004 CS and personally feel that all cayennes are great driving cars regardless of the generation. It is true that the first gen and facelift 955/957 are a different beast than the 958's.. so you may want to drive both. I actually prefer the exterior design language of the 955/957 better than the current generation but that's just me. I also like that they have a low range transfer case unlike the 958's.

I am obviously biased but I like the bolder front end on the 955/957 than the current ones, and I don't particularly like the taillights on the new ones. obviously the interior of the current generation blows the older ones away.

Each to his own now from your signature picture, your pepper can fly, I'll admit my diesel can' t but can it swim after the dive. Cool picture.

Check for tire wear and the state of the rotors.
Very expensive.
