Default 2016 Porsche Cayenne Info

Hey everyone,

I am contemplating buying either a base V6 or Diesel Cayenne .... and figured I would wait until the 2016 MY. I assume we're on the 2015s right now? Does anyone have info on the tweaks/changes for the 2016 MY? All I could find on the internet were articles on the new GTS and Turbo S variants... these seem like overkill for my needs.

Also for the current owners I was wondering if there were any drawbacks to the Diesel version.... seems like the way to go. If there are any "must-have options" feel free to weigh in.... you could double the price of the car by checking too many boxes on the Porsche website.

If you order the base V6 now, you're getting a '16 model. I ordered back in December and it was a '16 already.

I recommend driving both versions, make your determinations based on factual knowledge. I have the 2015 CD and it's exactly what I wanted. Lots of torque, awesome on fuel, perfect all around 365 day a year vehicle for us. I drove an S and the CD and to be honest unless you are really on the S the difference is marginal to me.

Diesel overall is right between the base V6 and S. The fuel efficiency gives it the edge over the marginally better performance of the S. In normal usage, when we are down to half a tank, I joke with my wife we're going have to fill up in about 2 weeks. The diesel transmits a bit more vibration to the interior, but it is quieter overall. I am always amazed at how fast I can get way over normal highway speed. Long trips are the diesel's specialty, but don't over pack.

Awesome thanks everyone. I'll probably go with the new diesel model. Does anyone know if Porsche has announced any significant changes to the upcoming 2016 Diesel model? I'm in no rush... still debating between the new Range Rover Sport Diesel that is on the horizon vs. the Cayenne.... both are amazing cars so it's a tough choice.

I just bought a '16 off the lot at the local dealer. It's my 1st Cayenne, but one of the 'pro's' on buying this is that next year at this time, it's still a '16 and a new car

I would imagine the changes are very minor if any. Especially since Porsche started rolling out early 16' months ago for those models that did not back the late 15 rollout (Base, GTS and maybe TurboS). The full wave of 16's that will probably roll out in the fall are probably unchanged.

The only thing I am hearing from the 16 owners is that they changed the headlights so again (for those w/o full LEDs) to have the 4 DRL lights in the headlight unit. But someone with a 16 can probably confirm that again.

I ordered a '15 diesel on 3 march, just got it. I noticed a change in the option list online at the end of march, and at that point they were doing the 16's, so 2015 should be running out soon.
