Default Weak-sauce sounding alarm...

Is something wrong with my 955 or do all the alarms sound pathetic when going off? Don't think it would alert/scare anyone.

Already replaced the instrument cluster speaker, so I don't think that's it.

Did you ever find the answer? I thought the alarm triggers the horn, not the instrument cluster speaker, and at least my horn (04 CS) isn't much to be afraid of.

But do tell us: Are you still happy with the instrument cluster speaker replacement?

They are a real bitch to reach but it's your horns. They fill with water and go bad. Remove fender liners and reeeeeeach in. It's undoing the connector that is the hard part. Parts are cheap and will cure retarded horn syndrome. Some members have even sourced burlier after market horns.

Isn't there a 3rd, alarm-only horn under the hood somewhere? Mine would honk only the low tone, then none using the steering wheel, but the alarm (although pathetic and underwater-sounding) still works.

Thanks for digging this back up. No one ever answered and I thought it was just the design. So, replace the horns? Mine definitely triggers the speaker in the instrument cluster. Normal horn still works though.

Instrument speaker was easy and definitely worth fixing.

Are you saying when you lock your doors, your instrument cluster speaker beeps loud enough to hear it outside and acts as the alarm horn? I just don't see that being the case - at least not for my 955. My instrument cluster speaker is also not working. It's not so bad since I get 4 or 5 warnings every time I start her up.

That's exactly what I am saying. Also, I had no alarm sound at all, just like I had no blinker or door open sound. Then I replaced the speaker, and now have all of the above (including the alarm sound). I'll tale a video of it later this week. I'm guessing everyone has this, but can't hear it above the horn. Likely just a sound for the inside vice outside.
