Default I bought another!!!

Well... We made the biggest mistake when we sold our 05 CTT to another member on the forum. We were going to buy a S63 AMG but end up missing the CTT so bad we got another.

I just finalized and got a killer deal today on an 08 CTT with 85k miles.. A little on the higher mileage side but service history was impeccable. It is a 1 owner car since brand new and the dealer told me it belonged to a judge. I did a PPI at the local dealer it was serviced at and everything came back good besides normal wear and tear items. I have all 30 pages of every single service record since new.

Water Distribution and thermostat/seal was changed at 63k miles.. High Pressure Fuel Pump was done at 55k miles.. Rotors and pads were just done 3k miles ago.. The only thing I see that hasnt been done yet is the cardan shaft so I will go ahead and change it out with a EPS shaft support.

It is Chestnut and that car is the twin of mine- Basalt Black with Chesnut. I love the Chestnut interior, but is it very subject to damage. It is similar to the 80's "gathered" leather option in terms of need to keep it maintained.

Congrats on your purchase! Btw, I see that you have PDCC! There seem to be only a few of us that have that option on a 957...

Nice. Might I ask how much you paid and how you found it? I'm looking for the exact same optioned car (basalt black w/ chestnut and PDCC). The ones that I've seen were in the $32k-$38k range depending on mileage.

PDCC is the option to set the different ride heights correct? If so I thought that was standard on all the CTT

PDCC is Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control. It is the hydraulically actuated swaybar system. It makes an incredible difference in handling. It also needs attention or it can get expensive to repair. Very few Cayennes have it in the '08-'10 years.

At the bottom of the chassis controls, there is a silver bar with PDCC on it. It is not a button, btw. The system is always on. Incidentally, when in extreme offroad conditions and a wheel loses contact with the ground, the swaybar will automatically disconnect and allow more suspension travel and more opportunity for the tire to contact the ground for traction and stability.

Cheers,
TomF

Ok now I'm a little worried! Haha.

When you say it needs attention, is there anything specific maint wise to keep up with?

Congrats VIP - looks like you found a great one. I think in many ways slightly higher mileage is a good thing. It means more of the typical issues are likely to have already surfaced by now.

pdcc is awesome....it helps tremendously in cornering...rediculous confidence going around corners.
It is a very expensive unit/repair if anything goes...I've got more miles on mine and so far no issues...knock on wood
