Default Odometer Reset

Hi,

When I press my button it does nothing.
Any help would be appreciated.

Also do I need this working to reset the service message?

Thanks

Press and hold. If that doesn't work, it's probably broke. You need durametric or a trip to the dealer to reset the service message.

If its broke, how can it be fixed, can it just pull out, or does dash need removing?

Thanks

Mine can be a PITA to get it to reset. Sometimes takes 6 or 7 presses from different angles before it finally works.

On my '06 S I had it happen twice (as in nothing I could do to get it to reset), since it was under CPO warranty I took it in and dealer had to replace the instrument cluster both times. I hated taking it in for such a piddly problem but I used the trip odometer and expected it to work. Was later told that mine was one of several vehicles that had the problem.

The button goes to a long (1" ish) thin stick that presses a button on the circuit board in the instrument cluster. The stick is, for some reason, missing the button the circuit board in my opinion. I doubt the switch on the board is bad. Mine is doing the same thing. Insturment cluster has to come out and apart to fix. Crappy design.

HNY!

Just read these, looks like you can pop off the button and fix the button.

I've read that on 06 cars, this option to reset was disabled :-(

Just hold it at the edges and pull, takes a but of pressure, but pops out easily in and out :-)

Popped them off and pushed. IT WORKED! The buttons are functional. I'm surprised all that is keeping this from working is the 'outer' button. Since I had to switch clusters earlier I had spares and all is good now. Thanks very much for keeping me from removing the cluster again!
