Default 04 CS Remote Start?

What's everyone using for remote starts? I'm sure it's well documented, but I didn't feel like digging for an outdated thread

I had a Viper unit installed a couple of years ago. It was a difficult install for a guy who'd installed hundreds of remote starts in the past. It took him 11 hours to install and I had to give up a key.

Seems to me I remember reading Porsche recommends not letting these sit idling/using a remote start with these vehicles. Can't remember if it had something to do with the turbos or what but it seems like a reasonable reason it wasn't offered as an option. (might have even been in the manual)

That being said, I'd be very interested in others' experience.

Any remote start setup on a modern vehicle with a chipped key is going to require sacrificing one of the keys to bypass the chip lock-out function. That can get rather expensive. I believe the chipped key from Porsche is something > $400/each and there are probably hoops to jump through in order to prove to Porsche that you own the vehicle and can purchase a key for it.

"IMO" bypass is in order... find a good installer and it shouldn't be a problem.

But idling for the car for long time is not good
